Vanuatu's cricketers can book a spot in the semi finals of World Cricket League division eight with a win over Suriname later this evening.
The Melanesian side opened the tournament with a crushing 282 run win over Bhutan but were well beaten yesterday by host nation Kuwait.
Team manager Garry Blake says while yesterday's 161 run loss sounds convincing it was more a case of them having an off day.
He says with Suriname having yet to win a match they're confident they can rediscover some form and book their place in the final four.
"If we play to our abilities we should be able to deal with Suraname fairly easily. The advantage of our batting performance yesterday is it helped our runrate significantly and we're well ahead in the run-rate. If, by chance, we were to lose to Suraname they'd have to beat us very comprehensively to move ahead of us in the run-rate, and Bhutan are unlikely to beat Kuwait, so you don't take anything for granted but we certainly look a stronger side."
The top two placed sides in the tournament will be promoted to cricket league seven.
