Employees of the StarKist Samoa cannery in American Samoa are working only three days this week.
Questions sent to a cannery spokesperson about the short week went unanswered.
Employees who spoke with KHJ News say they were told last week that a shortage of fish has made it necessary to cutback production.
One supervisor said it's likely that the cannery will be working 3-4 days a week up to the end of the year.
