The Vice President of China has reassured Fiji it will not interfere with the political course it has chosen.

Xi Jinping met Fiji's Foreign Affairs Minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, at the Ancient Chinese Forbidden City yesterday.

Fiji Village reports that the Vice President told Ratu Inoke that each State must be allowed to determine for themselves their own path to political, social and economic development without bullying and unwarranted pressure from outsiders.

He said each country knows what is good for its people and they must be given liberty to create wealth according to what they want.

Xi Jinping said China is confident that Fiji has the wisdom to govern its own country for the benefits of its people.
