A team from the US General Accountability Office in American Samoa for a follow-up study on the impact of the minimum wage increases has heard from members of the Chamber of Commerce.

About 20 business owners met in two sessions with the GAO and talked about how their businesses have been affected by the federally-mandated wage hikes.

The Chamber's chairman, Joey Cummings, says they also talked about other factors that businesses have to deal with.

"We have tax issues to look at, there are immigration issues to look at; Of course now e have shipping and utilities and fuel are also huge because we obviously we've got to have power to run our businesses."
