The U.S. Government Accountability Office has requested a meeting with the American Samoa Chamber of Commerce for today as part of a report on the impact of minimum wage increases.
Chamber secretary, Leland Slater, informed members that the GAO has requested a meeting with the Chamber for 60 to 90 minutes in small groups.
Mr Slater says the GAO is interested in discussing how local business is doing now, and how the wage increases have affected operations.
He says information is critical for making sure that the GAO has accurate information to base their recommendations to Congress.
The GAO team arrived last Thursday and has already met with several government agencies.
