A landowner company in Papua New Guinea says winning a multi-million dollar contract to provide transport services for Exxon Mobil's PNG LNG project is a great achievement.
The Trans Wonderland company, which represents landowners from the Southern Highlands, Hela and Western Provinces, has secured the contract worth more than 200 million US dollars.
The company's managing director Larry Andagali says Trans Wonderland is PNG's first and only landowner company and he believes it's the biggest contract gained by landowners in the country.
He says the landowners decided to think more commercially when they formed the company last year.
"We were basically bystanders in our own land but for the first time we have decided to take our landowner cap off and move in a direction where we are participating, and we are equal partners."
Larry Andagali says the contract should enable the company to double its workforce to 300 and will provide substantial revenue for landowners.
