The Democratic Party in the Cook Islands is to launch its official campaign tomorrow night.
The party is also due to launch its manifesto ahead of the elections next month.
This comes amid uncertainty over the future involvement in the party of its veteran member and former prime minister, Sir Terepai Maoate.
A preliminary vote in his constituency saw him dumped as a candidate when a newcomer, Mann Short, was chosen.
Sir Terepai has declined to say whether he will bow out of politics or stand as an independent.
