Fiji lawyer found guilty of professional misconduct

A legal practitioner has been found guilty of three counts of professional misconduct and one count of unsatisfactory professional conduct by the Independent Legal Services Commission (ILSC).

Haroon Ali Shah was found guilty of his charges by ILSC Commissioner, John Connors who said Shah was not fit to engage in legal practice.

Fiji Live reports In his judgment, Mr Connors ordered Shah to undertake five criminal trials on behalf of the Legal Aid Commission at no cost before October next year.

In addition to this, Shah is to pay costs totalling about 8,000 US dollars.
