NZ thumps Cook Islands in Oceania Women's Nations Cup

New Zealand once again laid on the goals, thumping Cook Islands 10-0 yesterday to book their place in the semi finals of the Oceania Women's Nations Cup football tournament.

Striker Amber Hearn scored a hat-trick for the home side to take her goal tally for the tournament to eight.

Friday's other Group A match saw Tahiti pick up their first win of the tournament, 5-1 against Vanuatu, with Heimiri Alvarez notching three goals of her own.

Later today Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands will put their perfect records on the line in Group B while Tonga and Fiji will square off in search of their first points in the competition.
