This year's visitor arrivals to the Northern Mariana Islands in July were up 16 percent, compared to the same month last year.
The Marianas Visitors Authority figures show arrivals to the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota totalled 35,164 visitors last month compared to 30,301 in July 2009.
The rise is being attributed to increased arrivals particularly from Japan, as well as Korea and China.
