Fiji's interim government has told so-called rich families to move out of squatter settlements.
The permanent secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Lieutenant-Colonel Neumi Leweni, says the government knows of rich squatters living in settlements while they have houses and properties rented out.
The Fiji Sun reports Lieutenant-Colonel Leweni as saying in some squatter areas, residents have businesses like automotive repair services and some operate small shops.
The Ministry of Lands is to conduct a survey to identify illegal squatters in the Suva area.
