An agreement has been reached in American Samoa for the purchase and taking over of the COS Samoa Packing cannery plant, which closed last September.
However, specific details remain under wraps following a meeting in Pago Pago between officials of Tri Marine International and Chicken of the Sea International, the owner of the Samoa Packing plant.
Samoa News quotes a government source, saying that the deal has Tri Marine International purchasing the remaining Samoa Packing fixed assets at a price of less than five million US dollars.
An official statement about the deal is expected to be announced today.
