American Samoa's Visitor's Bureau is seeking a huge boost to its budget for the next fiscal year as recommended in a plan developed by RCA consultants.
The plan recommends that the bureau operate on 2 million US dollars for 2011, up form 150-thousand US this fiscal year.
But budget director, Malemo Tausaga, had asked departments to keep their budgets at 2 percent below their current year budgets.
He said government revenues are taking a dive due to the closure of one cannery and layoffs at Star Kist Samoa.
