More staff at Cook Islands Tourism Corporation resign

10:27 am on 6 July 2010

Three more staff have resigned from the Cook Islands Tourism Corporation in response to restructuring planned for the agency.

The resignations of Anne Lyon, Jeremy Goodwin and Kura Metuariki brings the total departures this year from the Corporation to six.

A formal complaint about the possible breach of Corporation employment contracts with the restructuring was lodged with the ombudsman two weeks ago.

All Corporation staff have permanent performance based contracts which are reviewed annually.

Under the restructuring, staff will have to reapply for positions followed by an internal selection process.

If selected, the successful candidates would then undergo a three-month trial.
