Preparations for the staging of the 2012 Festival of Pacific Arts in Solomon Islands are under way, with the Deputy Prime Minister, Fred Fono, officially launching the event in Honiara.
The launch marks the beginning of preparations for the Festival which has been held every four years since 1972.
Mr Fono says it's the most important cultural event of the region and is expected to attract up to five thousand people to Honiara.
