The Fiji National Provident Fund Board will pay out about 60 million US dollars to its members after declaring a five percent interest payment for the year ending June the 30th.

The Fijivillage website reports the fund's chief executive Aisake Taito has released a statement, saying the interest will be credited into members' accounts by this afternoon.

The Provident Fund's Board has also approved the retention of a 4,000 dollar special death benefit.

The chief executive says the Board, management and staff are committed to growing members' funds and ensuring they're protected for their financial security on retirement.
