The French Polynesian grouping threatening a general strike from tomorrow says it has so far failed to get a satisfactory response from the government.
More talks will be held this afternoon between the collective of 11 union-style groups and the French Polynesian leadership as well as the French high commission.
According to Tahitipresse, the collective has however undertaken not to stage any demostration that could add to the likely disruption of the French national school exams due to be held tomorrow.
The strike was called to alert the political class and the French government to the seriousness of the political, economic and moral crisis.
Yesterday's discussions were open to the media, with the unions demanding the creation of an unemployment insurance.
