The police in Papua New Guinea say they've now recovered the bodies of three children who died in flooding last weekend, while five other people are missing presumed dead.
The Central Province police commander John Maru says the victims were swept away when the Veimauri River broke its bank on Sunday evening.
The flooding also destroyed about 12 houses in the village of Avara.
Chief Superintendent Maru says they recovered the body of a third child yesterday, after earlier finding the body of a seven year old girl and two year old boy.
"We recovered a three year old girl by the name of Matilda, the mother who claimed the kid as hers, she also lost, one of the two discovered earlier was one of hers too. So she lost two kids in the flood."
Chief Superintendent Maru says they've heard that people in other villages in the area have been made homeless by the flooding and have gathered in camps.
He says they are trying to establish how many people have been displaced, and to get supplies into the area.
