Passengers on PNG's Air Niugini face a price hike

10:21 am on 28 May 2010

Passengers travelling with Papua New Guinea's national carrier, Air Niugini, have been hit with another price hike as the airline announces a fuel surcharge.

The airline told customers yesterday the increase of just below four US dollars - ten kina extra - was due to a rise in the costs of aviation fuel in Papua New Guinea.

However, the Post Courier newspaper reports only domestic flights by the airline would be affected.
