The only cannery in American Samoa, Star Kist Samoa, is set to make a major announcement about its future tomorrow.
Star Kist's President, Don Binotto, who is visiting the territory, is reportedly making the announcement at a function scheduled at the Tradewinds Hotel.
Our correspondent says it's understands that the cannery will be announcing a drastic reduction in workforce as it moves to a loining operation.
Star Kist currently employs about 1,700 workers.
