In Papua New Guinea, protesters have presented a petition to parliament opposing legislation to amend the powers of the Ombudsman Commission.

About 300 people joined a march to parliament house on Tuesday morning to voice their concern over the legislation, which is currently being considered by parliamentarians .

The protest has been organised by the Community Coalition Against Corruption, one of a number of NGOs concerned over what they see as a move to weaken the Ombudsman's powers.
