PNG's Prime Minister begins visit three visit in NZ

The Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, Sir Michael Somare, is set to begin a three day New Zealand visit in Wellington today.

After an official welcome at Parliament this morning Sir Michael is to meet with New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, and later the Opposition Leader, Phil Goff.

Tonight he will meet with the PNG community in Wellington.

Sir Michael will also spend time in Rotorua before flying to Auckland on Thursday.

He is to give a lecture at the Pacific Fale at Auckland University before departing for Brisbane on Friday afternoon.
