The American Samoa Farmers Cooperative says farmers on Manu'a were hardest hit by Cyclone Rene.
Secretary Lagolemu Banner Si'ufaga Fanene says early reports show Manu'a plantations have suffered a lot of damage, particularly to crops like breadfruit.
"Mostly to just the traditional crops. The taro, the banana and of course the breadfruit trees are there, they are big strong trees. But while there is some damage, nothing that's going to be long term."
Lagolemu Banner Si'ufaga Fanene says the main island of Tutuila got off lightly with just minor damage to plantations and crops like bananas.
