Fiji's luxury Taunovo Bay Resort Management has agreed to pay all staff after the Labour Ministry intervened in a dispute.

The Fijivillage website reports that the resort management has given a verbal undertaking to pay the employees, who have been owed money since mid-November.

The Labour Ministry says it wants the resort's commitment to pay its staff in writing.

About 60 workers walked off their jobs for an hour last Friday to protest against the management of the luxury resort which charges at least 700 US dollars a night.
