The Solomon Islands HIV Unit in the Ministry of Health and Medical Services has sounded a warning about the increasing number of HIV cases in the country.
Co-ordinator of the National AIDS Council, John Gela, says Solomon Islanders are on average ignorant of the disease which he says is alarming for a small country.
He says since 1998 the country has recorded a new HIV case every year.
Mr Gela revealed that during a three-day awareness campaign for World AIDS day, they tested about 600 people.
Solomon Islands has to date recorded 13 HIV cases.
