Victims of Internet crimes committed in Fiji now have access to legal resources with the institution of a new Decree introducing new charges.

Opening the 11th Attorney General's conference , President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said this was a timely move that coincided with the advent of the information technology age, which brought with it new ways of committing crimes.

He said the new Crimes Decree will, for the first time, criminalise Internet or cyber offences.

Fiji Live says those attending the conference will discuss, among other things, issues such as Crime in Cyberspace, human trafficking, PACER and PACER-Plus and the freedom of information.
