A U.S. soldier from American Samoa has been awarded the prestigious military "Bronze Star Medal" for "Exceptionally Meritorious Service" while on duty in Iraq.
Staff Sergeant Samoanagalo Leatimua of the Manu'a Islands was awarded the medal at a military ceremony in Hawaii.
Sergeant Leatimua, who is 43, says that he believes that his honesty in doing his job provided him the opportunity to receive this medal.
