5:58 am on 9 November 2009

The Police in American Samoa have been called to the Samoana High School campus over the weekend to break up a fight, the second in two days.

Officers were at the school the day before to quell a fight among students from Pago Pago and Fagatogo.

While officers were on campus students let off fireworks and smoke grenades.

Five students were taken to the police station and police confiscated two smoke grenades.

Among the group taken in for questioning was a female student who was injured while officers were trying to break up the scuffle.

Police say they had to use force because some of the students were out of control.
