Vanuatu's Department of immigration has deported a Nigerian national to Fiji.

Arosanyin Olatunde Charles arrived in Vanuatu on the 17th of October without a return ticket to his country.

Vanuatu immigration compliance officer, Samuel Garae, says Mr Charles only managed to get a return ticket to Fiji where he boarded an Air Pacific flight to Port Vila.

The Nigerian was recently deported from Australia following the expiration of his visa after living there for three years.

He later ended up in Samoa.

When interviewing by Vanuatu immigration, Mr Charles claimed he left Samoa following the recent earthquake and tsunami there.
