The leader of French Polynesia's To Tatou Aia Party, Gaston Tong Sang, appears to have ended his moves to split away from the coalition government.
Mr Tong Sang has entered into a new dialogue with President Oscar Temaru after weeks of criticising a range of his decision and quitting meetings of the so-called majority.
Last week, he told the AFP news agency that he had not heard a single comment indicating that the current government could help the terrritory out of its crisis.
Mr Tong Sang said all possible combinations had been tried except a link-up between his To Tatou Aia and the Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party of Gaston Flosse.
