The United States House of Representatives has approved in a unanimous vote a tsunami resolution sponsored by the American Samoa Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin.

The seven-page resolution is titled 'Mourning the loss of life caused by the earthquakes and tsunami that occurred on September 29, 2009, in American Samoa, Samoa, and Tonga.'

Its 46 co-sponsors include delegates from the US territories and congressional members from Hawai'i and California.

The resolution acknowledges the disaster's human cost and pays tribute to the people of American Samoa and Samoa for their strength of spirit and their deep and abiding faith in God.
