Vanuatu's Electoral Commission has confirmed September the 1st as the date for the election of the country's President.
This comes after Kalkot Mataskelekele's term as President ended last weekend.
The new President will be elected by the Electoral College which is made up of the 52 members of the parliament and the president of the six provincial governments.
Since the departure from the post of Mr Mataskelekele, the speaker of parliament, Maxime Carlot Korman, has been the acting President.
