Police in Indonesia's Papua province have intensified security measures along a road connecting Timika and the Grasberg mine following three shooting attacks in one day on the road.
No one was killed in the recent attacks.
The Jakarta Post paper reports a Papua police spokesman as saying officers have closed the road and are investigating the incidents sites.
He said police will now be guarding mine workers transportation after two vehicles carrying Freeport miners along the road to the Grasberg mine came under attack.
Gunmen also fired at two vehicles carrying a joint military-police team a few hours later.
Last month, three people were killed in a series of attacks along the same road.
