The Guam Department of Public Health raised the total of confirmed swine flu cases up to 33 after getting confirmation of nine more people infected with the H1N1 virus.
A release over the weekend states that Public Health is currently conducting further investigation and monitoring the nine individuals.
The Department will continue to collaborate with key partners to ensure that individuals who are ill are quickly identified and assessed and appropriate precautionary measures are taken.
Those who are experiencing prolonged flu-like symptoms for more than seven days have been advised to seek medical attention.
Residents were also urged to practice coughing etiquette such as covering nose and mouth when coughing, wash hands regularly and stay away from large crowds.
