The FBI in American Samoa is warning locals of scammers pretending to be government agencies and even the FBI, requesting personal information like social security numbers or bank accounts.
In the past three months, the FBI has received an increasing number of complaints from people being targetted via email or mail.
They say those involved in the operations request information in a bid to seek to transfer them money or other valuable items.
Servaral of these schemes appear to be targetting senior people in the American Samoan community.
