Guam has reported its first swine flu-related death.
Guam health officials say a 26-year-old woman died in hospital last week while receiving treatment for influenza H1N1, although she also suffered other medical problems.
They say there are 16 confirmed cases in Guam, including 10 people who had fully recovered from the illness.
Meanwhile, in the Northern Mariana Islands, officials have reported the first two confirmed cases of swine flu.
Last week, the World Health Organisation's representative for the South Pacific told Fiji media that 14 nations and territories in the Pacific islands region had recorded swine flu cases.
