The head of the Solomon Islands Football Federation is hoping to have a proposal for an annual, Pacific-wide tournament ready by the end of September.
The proposal for the competition was discussed during the recent Oceania Football Confederation, or OFC, congress in the Bahamas between Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
Eddie Ngava says the idea is to give players more regular international experience between the South Pacific Games and Oceania Qualifying.
