It appears the public emergency regulations in Fiji will be extended into next month.
The interim government was due to decide next week whether to continue with the censorship of media outlets.
But Fiji's permanent secretary for information, Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni now says local journalists attending the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development conference at the end of July will need to be aware of the regulations.
"Its all about being responsible reporting. If you are not responsible, you will be taken to task."
Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni has confirmed that the decision to defer the annual conference of the Methodist Church still stands, after church leaders gave no assurance they would stop engaging in political debate.
