Pitcairn Island school takes part in a worldwide video link

10:02 am on 20 May 2009

One of the world's remotest schools will take part in a worldwide video link-up today.

Six children from the Pitcairn Island school will talk to classrooms in up to 30 different countries, during the day.

The school's teacher, Jeannie Horrell, says the World Video Conference project allows students and teachers to promote global awareness by bringing classrooms face to face to discuss world issues.

The Pitcairn classroom has 20 minutes to make its presentation.

Participating schools from around the world will then join in the question and answer session.
