Solomons to review National Referral Hospital

1:52 pm on 19 May 2009

The Solomon Islands parliament has established a special select committee to review the National Referral Hospital.

National Parliament's legal officer, Calvin Ziru, says the review will give an opportunity for Solomon Islanders to look at the quality of service at the hospital.

He says submissions are now being called on from the public and the committee will formally begin its work in August.

The National Referral Hospital has never been scrutinised since independence in 1978.

The committee has been given until November during which it must present its finding to the house.
