Ethics training set up for American Samoan government

7:07 pm on 28 April 2009

American Samoa's cabinet directors and their deputies are to go through an ethics training course next month, based on recommendations by the Department of Human Resources.

Governor Togiola Tulafono says the training will emphasise integrity and honesty.

He says if those in leadership positions carry out their duties honestly, the public will benefit.

Togiola says such training was done a couple of years ago by an off-island university but with his new administration in office for the next four years, he wants to reiterate the importance of ethics among senior staff.
