Fiji's SDL Party, says it should be an urgent priority for the interim Government to continue to appoint judges.
The magistrates court is in its third day of sitting, after President Josefa Iloilo sacked the judiciary.
SDL's national director, Peceli Kinivuwai, says for a country to have any credibility it needs to have a functioning judiciary.
"That is an issue that the interim regime needs to address and address well because it will be the cornerstone of our survival. If we begin to wane, in terms of the legitimacy of our judiciary then we will not be able to win the support and the respect of the domestic and outside community."
Peceli Kinivuwai says in ten days since the Court of Appeal ruling, which declared the government illegal, Fiji has fallen from its position as the so-called "Hub of the Pacific".
