Four police officers in American Samoa who had access to the police evidence room have been placed on administrative leave while an investigation continues into the disappearance of evidence.
The missing evidence includes methamphetamine, guns and thousands of dollars of cash.
One of the three weapons that went missing was retrieved from the home of one of the officers who has been placed on leave.
The Commissioner of Public Safety, Tuaolo Manaia Fruean, last week ordered a criminal and internal inquiry into the missing evidence.
Police sources say there's a strong possibility criminal charges may be filed against the officers.
