In the Northern Marianas, a two-day joint task force operation has seen the arrest of 14 people, mostly for allegedly engaging in prostitution.
The Department of Public Safety spokeswoman, Lei Ogumoro, says that of the 14 arrested, all were Chinese, and 12 of them women nabbed for prostitution activities in Garapan and Susupe.
She says one man was apprehended for illegal possession of a controlled substance and trafficking in Garapan.
The two-night operation was carried by members of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, DPS Criminal Investigation Division, the US Marshal Service, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
The suspects all appeared in the Superior Court on Monday afternoon.
