A senior police officer in Papua New Guinea is alleged to have thrown his wife out of his vehicle earlier this week.
The Post Courier says the Deputy Commissioner Operations, Geoffery Vaki, allegedly threw his wife from the vehicle in a main road in Port Moresby.
The paper quotes sources within the police, who did not want to be named, saying Mr Vaki's partner was injured when she landed on her back.
She was assisted by by-standers who took her to the Port Moresby police station.
The woman was later taken to hospital for treatment.
The Police Commissioner Gari Baki says he has assigned staff to investigate the matter.
