More political discussions to be held in Fiji

Another round of preparatory political discussions is due to be held in Fiji in just over two weeks.

The meeting of political representatives has been called to look again at agenda issues for a President's Political Forum and its terms of reference.

A spokesperson for the SDL Party, Ted Young, says it's four months since the last discussions took place and his party does not want the forum to be used a delaying tactic:

"We prefer that political leaders were locked up in a room for one or two weeks and only come out of the room when they've agreed on taking Fiji forward."

Mr Young says the date for the meeting has been set for the 13th of March.

There is no sign yet of a report coming from the joint Commonwealth and UN team that visited Suva earlier this month to look into assisting with the proposed Presidential Forum
