Investigations are being carried out into Fiji police officers who took their work grievances to the media, sparking a lecture by the Police Commissioner.
Esala Teleni issued a stern warning to all officers early this week, telling them to support him or to get out of the police force.
Police spokeswoman Ema Mua says on Saturday a group of Indo-Fijian officers took their complaints about the police force to the Fiji Sun newspaper instead of referring them to the Commissioner.
She says there has been a misunderstanding in the media that Mr Teleni's ultimatum was related to the Christian Crusade run by the police in December last year.
"The commissioner did not make a statement to sacking officers if they were against the police crusade. The commissioner said that he would terminate all services of those officers who did not follow the correct procedures of airing out their grievances."
Ema Mua says the Professional Standard Unit is investigating the officers who went to the media, as well as the individuals who leaked video footage of Mr Teleni's lecture to the media.
