Fiji's national under-21 netball team is waiting to learn whether their travel visa to New Zealand will be accepted in order to take part in the Pre-World Championship tournament in Auckland.
The New Zealand event gets underway from February the 27th, and will see Fiji compete against the hosts and teams from South Africa, Australia and Cook Islands.
Fiji coach, Melissa Walker, says she hopes to hear from New Zealand visa officials in the next few days.
"All we're hoping is that we can get the visas from New Zealand, I mean it's very sad to be honest when sports is brought into the politics circle, I mean this is one of the hurdles for us and Fiji obviously what's happening here at the moment, but this is going to be a great opportunity for us if we get it but otherwise we going to have to try and go to Australia or further afield to try and gain some experience."
Melissa Walker says so far only one of her team members has been declined a visa because of military connections.
