The Samoa Chamber of Commerce says the government will need a economic stimulus package if the financial recession overseas affects remittances from Samoans living in other countries.
However, it warns that a stimulus package might mean a further increase in taxes and the cost of state services, which are already high.
The deputy Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni, has asked for input on a possible economic stimulus plan for Samoa and says consultations will be held this month.
The Chamber's President, Sina Retlaff Lima, says it welcomes the chance to explore realistic possibilities.
