Ice cream business owner in Solomon Islands gets a CBE

An actor who established an ice cream business in the Honiara Market in Solomon Islands has gotten a prestigious Queen's Honours award in Britain.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports Earl Cameron has been honoured with a Commander of the British Empire medal, CBE, in the 2009 Queen's New Year's Honours List.

Earl Cameron, who now lives in England got the award in recognition to his services to drama.

The CBE, Commander of the British Empire, is the most prestigious division of the British Empire after the Knighthoods.
